Jericho Season 1 DVD

Jericho Among Many Being Held to January

I think most of us knew this already, but Jericho is among many shows this Fall that is going to be having its Season Premiere in January rather then the typical September or October. This is a new common trend that many networks are picking up, and with the shortened schedule of Jericho this coming year it is no wonder that this was going to happen. Here is what AZCentral had to say about this new trend for networks.

If you don’t like the new shows, just wait. There are plenty of others, ready to replace them.

In particular, networks have become fond of holding back an established show.
That has worked wonders for “24″ on Fox; now ABC tries the same thing with “Lost.” The show is planning to wrap up with three 16-episode seasons, each starting in January or February.

Jericho Adds Another New Cast Member for Season 2

According to the Hollywood Reporter, CBS has added another cast member to the Jericho lineup, something we haven’t really heard much about. The Hollwood Reporter states that “Emily Rose, who recently appeared on HBO’s short-lived “John From Cincinnati,” has landed gigs on two dramas, ABC’s Brothers & Sisters and CBS’ “Jericho.”

Her role on Jericho as of right now is still in question, but just the idea that they are casting and pushing Jericho does hold good for Season 2 of Jericho.

CBS Signs Deal with Jon Turteltaub

The future of Jericho is still on rocky ground, and besides the handful of episodes we are told we are going to get this season, future seasons are still unsure. Well for Jon Tureltaub there is no reason to worry, as the series director has signed a nice new deal keeping him with CBS for the future. According to MovieWeb.com, they had this to say about the recent deal.

Director John Turteltaub has signed a multi-year deal with CBS Paramount Network TV. According to Variety, Turteltaub will create a drama, a comedy, and a realty series for the channel.

Turteltaub made his network directorial debut with the series Jericho. Though not yet a confirmed hit, the series did return from the cancellation grave.

CBS president David Stapf stated of Turteltaub and his team, “They are smart, collaborative and have been extremely instrumental in making the show a cult favorite. They had a clear vision of the direction of the show both in look and story. We’re fortunate that Jon not only brought his sense of humor but his cinematic style to television.”

CBS had pursued Turteltaub for years before Jericho came along. Under the CBS Paramount deal, Zreik and Shotz will serve as co-exec producers on all future Turteltaub TV projects.

Clay Continues to Take Credit for Saving Jericho

I have no problem with Clay Aiken, the guy has a great voice. However the man just won’t go through an interview without letting you know that he was the start of saving Jericho. He did an interview with the Sun-Sentinal and one of the early plugs Clay did was from this question:

Q. What’s the most unique gift you’ve received from a fan?

A. You mean turkey-baster unique? Like that? Because I’ve gotten one of those. Let’s just let you sit on that for a minute. (Brief pause.) And there it is. The show Jericho … I loved it. I started blogging about it on my fan site. It got canceled, and I blogged about how upset I was. I said, “The Claymates can do anything. How do we get this show back on the air?” Honestly, within a week they had organized a campaign amongst Jericho fans to send nuts to CBS. It kind of started in that place. And it’s back on the air! It just blows my mind.”

So there you have it, the “Claymates” saved Jericho. I call that NUTS!

Jericho’s Getting Back into Gear

BuddyTV has been doing a great job of updating us on some of the latest insights into the production of Jericho and this is the latest update on the shows progress:

Jericho, the cast and crew of the CBS drama series are now eager to get back to work and exert all efforts to reciprocate the gratifying display of loyalty and support from fits fans to bring back the series for yet another season.

The next couple of weeks are going to be very hectic for the cast and crew of Jericho. Filming has already started on July 31 for the seven-episode order CBS officially picked up earlier in June.”

Jericho Casting New Role, President of the US

I did a little surfing this afternoon and came accross this little tid-bit found on a TV Blog called Remote Access. I have never heard of this blog before but they are reporting that Jericho is doing a little casting for its upcoming half season. Here is what they had to say:

“The show will be introducing the new acting president of the U.S. this season. The part, per the casting notice, is being modeled after JFK, a charismatic leader the people need to help rebuild what is left of the country.”

What I loved about there post was there speculation on who would be good in the role. Of course one of the commentors put down Gerald McRaney and as weird as that sounds he would always be the best man for the job! Should be interesting to see who actually does grab the role.
